Things to check before you buy

Check three things first: (1) the energy that actually reaches your phone is less than the rated mAh, (2) output watts and USB-C Power Delivery support, and (3) airline rules (from April 20, 2026: two per person, 160Wh max). For phones only, 10,000mAh at around 20W is plenty; to top up a tablet or laptop, look for USB-C PD at 45W or more.

Since April 20, 2026, passengers may carry up to two power banks, each 160Wh (about 43,000mAh) or less. Charging a power bank, or using one to charge another device, is banned during the flight, and power banks cannot go in checked baggage. The rule was proposed by South Korea's transport ministry and adopted by ICAO as an international standard, so it applies on international routes too.

MagSafe is Apple's magnetic wireless charging system; Qi2 (up to 15W) and Qi2.2 (up to 25W) are open magnetic standards that Android phones can use too.
